About Climbing Wild Iris

Climbing Wild Iris started as an idea about five years ago, when I first started rock climbing. A couple months in, I completely fell in love with the sport. But I also found myself wishing there were more resources for women who were just beginning. I was lucky enough to meet some really supportive people at my gym, but I know that isn’t the experience for everyone, especially for those who struggle with social anxiety, fear of rejection, or just simple stress when talking to new people.

This site is designed to be a place where you can come to feel a little more at peace while searching for answers.

Climbing Wild Iris is a space for women and non-binary climbers to come together, feel understood, and remember that they’re not alone in their climbing journey. In a lot of ways, this space is just as much for me as it is for anyone else. Life can feel chaotic, and climbing doesn’t always come easily. But when we have a safe corner of the internet to land in, reflect, and connect, it feels empowering and safe.

Whether you’re looking for advice on climbing, routesetting, gear, encouragement, reassurance, technique, or just a sense of community behind a screen, I am going to try to cover it all.

I am so glad you made it to this part of the internet. I can't wait for the next journey!
