Comfort Clothing For the Gym: PrAna Edition

I’ve tried so many different workout clothes over the years — for the boring gym and for the climbing gym.
Some clothes looked cute but were so uncomfortable & felt restrictive. Some dug into my waist, and after the gym, it was a relief to get out of my clothes. Some made me feel self-conscious cause I felt like my nipple or cooter was going to pop out, so I couldn't even climb hard!
I stumbled across PrAna when a friend gave me a pair of climbing pants, and I honestly changed my life. (I know, dramatic). BUT it was so nice not to feel like I had a constant camel toe and to feel self-conscious.
I wanna make it clear that this is NOT an affiliate post. I’m not making commission from this post. I just wanted to share the pieces I keep ordering online because they actually feel good to climb in.
These are my favorite prAna climbing pants, shorts, and tops.
Comfort Clothes = Climbing Harder:
Climbing is already mentally demanding.
You’re problem-solving. You’re fighting a constant pump. You’re trying again after falling for the millionth time.
And the last thing you need is:
A waistband digging in
Shorts riding up
A top that restricts your shoulders & biceps
Fabric that makes you constantly feel like you need to adjust
PrAna Climbing Pants I Love:
Rock Ridge Melrose Pant – $108:
These feel structured but still flexible. They’re great for outdoor climbing days when you want something durable without feeling stiff.
Best for:
Outdoor sessions & having to hike into the crag
Longer climbing days
Stretch Zion Cargo Pant – $104:
Lightweight, breathable, and very movement-friendly. There's a really nice stretch with these pants.
Best for:
Gym to crag days
Versatility
Climbers who hate feeling restricted
Bondi E-Waist Pant – $88:
A soft waistband. If you don’t love compression or tight waistbands pressing into you, these feel much better. I even wear these just relaxing around the house.
Best for:
Comfort-first climbers
Long indoor sessions
Sensitive days when you want to feel relaxed
PrAna Climbing Shorts:
Stretch Zion Cargo Shorts – $84:
Lightweight and functional. Great for warmer days when you still want coverage and flexibility.
DreamTerry Shorts – $54:
Soft and lounge-like. These lean more towards comfort than rugged performance, but they’re amazing for gym sessions.
Kanab Shorts – $74:
A nice balance between structured and flexible. They feel supportive without feeling stiff.
PrAna Tops & Bras for Climbing:
I think it's important to note I am flat once flat chested girly pop. So these bras are great for me and I picked the ones that I think will work best for all body types.
Lotus Tank Top – $38:
Simple, breathable, and easy to move in. I go for a size XS because I personally like my tank tops tight, but I also have a S, and it's very comfortable.
Pure Ascent Muscle Tank – $48:
Perfect for unrestricted shoulder movement. Great if you don’t love tight sleeves.
Pure Ascent Short Sleeve – $48:
If you prefer sleeves but still want stretch, this one moves well overhead.
Heavana Essential Bralette – $64:
Soft support, soft material, and low compression. Very comfortable for climbing sessions that aren’t super high-impact.
Luxara Longline Bra – $64:
A bit more structured while still staying comfortable. Good balance of support and softness.
Heavana Essential Tank – $68:
Soft, flattering, and easy to throw on for both gym and casual wear.
I know that what I may prefer others might, but I truly hope some of these pieces make others feel comfortable and confident. Finding climbing clothes and gear can be pretty difficult at times, but I hope this blog post helps a couple of you!
Thanks for tuning in!
